The past 24 hours of links remind me how important it is to get out there, to be in the world. As a person, as a brand, as a media company. To that end, I’ll be traveling the rest of the week, and Signal might be, well, weak. Next week, I am on vacation. But I may well Signal it anyway, because I love to cull the herd of links this industry keeps driving down the range. To those links…
ComScore Flunks Math. Yahoo Not Amused. (ATD) When Yahoo has an issue, it issues a press release and Comscore apologizes. The rest of us? Well, not so much.
How to Socialize User Experience Design: Thinking Outside Your Website (Shannon Paul) That’s right Shannon. It’s not about the website, it’s about the conversation. The website, for lack of a better analogy, is YOU now. Where you = the brand. And you should hang out in more places than your living room. IE, get out there. But have a party every so often at your house, natch.
iPad Owners Are ‘Selfish Elites.’ Critics Are ‘Independent Geeks.’ Discuss. (Wired) As I said, a million times (OK about twice): It’s the Mac of the tablet world. I owned a Mac. I don’t think I’ll own an iPad. If, and it’s a big if, Android doesn’t make aWindows hash of it.
Hey Old Spice haters, sales are up 107% (AdFreak) Well what do you know? Brands matter.
What Marketers Can Learn From Starbucks’ Foursquare Stumble (adAge) Er…one guy goes into one store, where one manager failed to tell his staff about a promotion, and that means it’s a failure as a campaign? Come on guys. Let’s be real here.
Mashable Celebrates Its 5th Birthday (Mashable) Congratulations, Mashable, a partner we’re proud to say we’ve been with nearly as long.

Forrester: Why Most Marketers Should Forgo Foursquare (AdAge) Too small, they say. Well, Twitter was too small back in late 08, when we started recommending our clients should work with it. Same for Facebook in 07. And Digg in 06. And blogs in 05. See a pattern yet?!
Ask Comes Full Circle With “Q&A” Offering (SEL) I wish you luck, Ask, in a space rife with waning competitors.

OMG, its been a month since I applied for FM authors, but still no words and/or reply/replies.
FM is the only solution that we can find to greatly monetize or site since the whole team resides outside USA, and our traffic is mostly US.
I hope someone will look into our application soon.
BTW, we’re like “Mamapop”..
Sorry we have not replied beyond our initial response, which I assume you did get? We do have a lot of sites who wish to be partners and we can’t respond to each every time. I’ll pass this along to our team though.
