Tuesday Signal: The Sky Will Not Fall

Ok, that’s one heck of a headline, but the big news this weekend was Apple’s announcement that Steve Jobs was taking another medical leave, the subsequent plunge of Apple shares on European markets (8 percent when I checked last), and the sense of impending doom when US markets open Tuesday.

Well, I say the markets will shrug it off. It’s awful what Jobs is going through, and it’s bad for Apple too. But the story will continue, and stock markets, I hope, are about long term stories. Right?!

  1. Then again, there’s over-population, peak oil production and climate change to worry about. Maybe nothing on the scale of Steve Job’s health but enough to keep me up nights chanting “There must be a god. There must be a god.”
